Hi Embassy-Supporter*s,

es beginnt der vierte Monat ohne Veranstaltungen vor Ort in der Embassy, stattdessen gibt es jeden Mittwoch abend die Virtual Embassy auf unserem Videokonferenzserver. Trotzdem kann man nicht sagen, dass vor Ort nichts passierte, im Guten wie im Schlechten … Ein Künstler hat zusammen mit unserem Build-Team unsere Fassade verschönert und dem Man einen würdigen Hintergrund beschert!

Einige Tage vorher haben wir aber leider unser Fenster verloren beim ersten Einbruch diesen Jahres (und dem 7. insgesamt), und ich meinen Raspberry Pi mit Gehäuse, den der Einbrecher beim Wieder-Rausgehen direkt vor der filmenden Kameralinse abgestöpselt und eingesteckt hat (nachdem er eine halbe Stunde bei unseren Nachbarn Schränke aufgebrochen hatte). Sonst fehlt uns aber nicht (und die Nachbarn sind versichert), außer dass es vielleicht noch etwas dauert, bis die Holzplatte wieder durch ein echtes Fenster ersetzt wird. Bei der aktuellen Corona-Verordnungslage fürchte ich aber, dass wir erst wieder offizielle Veranstaltungen machen können, wenn es warm genug für die Terrasse ist.

Die genaue Zukunft und unsere Unterbringung im Haus der Statistik nach Ablauf des Vertrages Ende Juni wird derzeit noch gestaltet und wird vermutlich im März klarer, leider sieht es noch nicht nach Corona-Verschiebungen aus. Aber wir bleiben aktiv und dran!

Organisatorisch stellen wir im Verein einiges auf neue Füße, damit wir wieder voll durchstarten können sobald es geht. Ein Aspekt davon ist die Verlagerung der Embassy Supporter-Mailingliste auf ein anderes System. Dazu wird es wahrscheinlich noch mal nötig, die Anmeldung zur Mailingliste zu bestätigen (Double-Opt-In). Falls ihr sowieso keine Emails mehr von der Embassy bekommen wollt, ist das die ideale Gelegenheit, nichts zu tun. Falls doch, dann bestätigt bitte eure Intention und Emailadresse in der ankommenden Bestätigungsabfrage. Könnte auch im Spam-Ordner gelandet sein, also haltet die Augen offen.

In den nächsten Tagen müsste auf Youtube eine Aufzeichnung der Diskussion von MokKa und mir bei Burners without Borders erscheinen, Die 90 Minuten wurden von knapp 80 Menschen aus aller Welt neugierig verfolgt. Für uns war es sehr spannend, und ich hoffe, die Aufzeichung ist es für euch auch!

Hi Embassy Supporters*s,

the fourth month without events physically in the Embassy just began. But we’re with the Virtual Embassy live on our video conferencing server every Wednesday evening . Still, you can’t say that nothing is happening on location, for better or worse… An artist, together with our build team, has beautified our facade and gave the Man a worthy background!
A few days before, however, we unfortunately lost our window in the first burglary of this year (and the 7th overall), and I personally lost my Raspberry Pi with case, which the burglar unplugged and plugged in right in front of the filming camera lens on his way out again (after spending half an hour breaking open cabinets at our neighbors‘). Other than that, though, we’re not missing anything (and the neighbors are insured), except that it might be a while before the wooden panel is replaced with a real window again. With the current Corona ordinance situation, however, I’m afraid we won’t be able to do official events again until it’s warm enough for the terrace.

The exact future and our accommodation at the House of Statistics after the contract expires at the end of June is still in progress and will probably become clearer in March, unfortunately it doesn’t look like Corona shifts yet. But we stay active and at it!

Organizationally, we are putting some things on new feet in the Berlin Burner association, so that we can get back to full speed as soon as we can. One aspect of this is moving this Embassy Supporter mailing list to another system. This will probably require you to confirm your subscription to the mailing list again (double opt-in). If you don’t want to receive any more emails from the Embassy anyway, this is the perfect opportunity to do nothing. If you want to keep in touch, please confirm your intention and email address in the confirmation email that will arrive. Could also have ended up in the spam folder, so keep your eyes open.

In the next days a recording of the discussion of MokKa and me at Burners without Borders should appear on Youtube. The 90 minutes were watched curiously by nearly 80 people from all over the world. For us it was very exciting, and I hope the recording is exciting for you too!
