Infostand Burning Man Multiverse

für acht Abende hintereinander wird ab morgen (Sonntag) die Burner Embassy Berlin mit einem Inforstand zum virtuellen Burning Man geöffnet sein.

Zum Einen, weil Burning Man die Grundlagen gelegt hat für das was wir tun, und weil es dieses Jahr für mehr Leute die Möglichkeit gibt, einen Hauch der essentiellen Eigentschaften von Burning Man mitzubekommen: Kunst und Dinge entdecken, mit Menschen in Kontakt kommen, und gemeinsam Erfahrungen machen. Nur steht bei manchen Varianten (jenseits von Zoom-Calls) noch etwas technische Vorbereitung im Weg, und dann muss man auch erst mal herausfinden, was und wohin man will.

Als Weiteres geht es (für mich) darum herauszufinden, wie unser Raum mehr und besser für die Außenwelt zugänglich wird. Nicht nur, weil die Nutzung für Planungsmeetings und Workshops drinnen noch für eine ganze Weile fehlen wird, sondern auch um unserer Lage und Möglichkeiten gerecht zu werden und nicht nur ein- bis zweimal in der Woche eine offene Veranstaltung zu haben, sondern vielleicht auch später mal täglich Menschen zu uns einzuladen.

Aber jetzt starten wir erst mal mit einer Woche jeweils für 3 Stunden (plus Setup und Strike), und es haben sich schon einige Leute gemeldet, die auch die Aussenseite der Embassy mit Carsten’s Stahl-Man noch einladender gestalten wollen. Wir werden wahrscheinlich auch in den Stunden außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten einen Live-Stream aus den virtuellen Burning Man Welten im Fenster laufen haben. Es wird auch einen Filmabend geben (vermutlich Donnerstag) mit der frischen Art On Fire Dokumentation, und am Samstag Burn From Home, unser Anteil der weltweit gestreamten Mini-Burns aus allen Zeitzonen (bei uns spätestens 21 Uhr).

Hi Embassy Supporters:s,

for eight evenings in a row the Burner Embassy Berlin will be open from tomorrow (Sunday) with an information booth about the virtual Burning Man.

First, because Burning Man has laid the foundation for what we do, and because this year more people will have the opportunity to get a whiff of the essential characteristics of Burning Man: Discovering art and things, getting in touch with people, and sharing experiences. But for some variants (beyond zoom calls) there is still some technical preparation in the way, and then you have to find out what and where you want to go.

Another thing (for me) is to find out how our space can be made more and better accessible to the outside world. Not only because the use for planning meetings and workshops inside will be missing for quite some time, but also to do justice to our situation and possibilities and not only to have an open event once or twice a week, but maybe later to invite people to our place every day.

But now we start with one week for 3 hours each (plus setup and strike), and some people have already contacted us, who also want to make the outside of the Embassy with Carsten’s Stahl-Man even more inviting. We will probably have a live stream from the virtual Burning Man worlds in the window during the hours outside of opening hours. There will also be a movie night (probably Thursday) with the fresh Art On Fire documentary, and on Saturday Burn From Home, our share of the worldwide streamed mini-burns from all time zones (in our case no later than 9pm).
